BUSINESS SERVICES
Action Packaging
BACI is actively seeking opportunities for participants in its
Action Packaging training and support program.
For the more than 50 individuals supported daily in Action
Packaging,
it is a place to participate in meaningful activities.
The various projects include shrink wrapping of cd’s
and dvd’s, product assembly, mailing services, poly
bagging and materials recycling. Clients over the past year have
included the BC Medical Association, BC Wildlife
Federation, Westec Automotive Supplies, Willis
Supply and Ecco Manufacturing.
Clients receive excellent pricing and service, while the
activities bring great value to the lives of the individuals served
by BACI.
More than just a training program, it is also an important part
of the social lives of both individuals and staff. As one staff
recently said,
“When you’ve worked in a place for a long
time, you find that your life and the lives of the people you
support get intertwined.”
If you are interested in learning more about the products and
services offered by Action Packaging, please call 604. 292.
1282.
Woodshop
Twelve people participate in BACI’s woodshop
activities, supported by three staff.
All of our products are made of red cedar. We build a variety of
products, such as garden arbors, picnic tables, lawn chairs,
planters, and smoked salmon boxes.
Our annual participation in the BC Home & Garden
Show and the Vancouver Folk Festival generates a
tremendous amount of interest and results in the sale of many of
our products.
We are constantly exploring new product ideas and marketing
opportunities so that the woodshop continues to be a place of
learning and creativity for both staff and the people we
support.
If you are interested in learning more about the products and
services offered by the Woodshop, please call 604. 292. 1282.
Supported Work Experience
This program is designed to provide volunteer work opportunities
where individuals can develop relationships, build their skills and
contribute
in a meaningful way to their community. Work experience
locations
have included the Royal Bank, Value Village, HMV,
Roger’s Video, SPCA, day cares and seniors’
centers. Currently, 24 individuals are receiving
services.
If you are interested in supporting this program by providing
work or volunteer experience, please call 604. 299. 7851.
