PROGRAMS AND SERVICESCHILD CARESuncrest Out of School Care CentreSuncrest Out of School Care provides an inclusive child care program that strives for healthy and optimal growth and development for all children. All children are recognized as unique individuals with a variety of strengths, needs, talents and interests. We believe that children learn through play, curiosity, experimentation and exploration. Developmentally appropriate programming and activities are provided that promote inclusion, multiculturalism and learning. Suncrest is a licensed facility that is fully wheelchair accessile. It is licensed to care for 30 children from 5 - 12 years old. The child-to staff ratio for children in Kindergarden and Grade 1 is 1 staff for every 10 children. For children in Grades 2 to 7, the ratio is 1 staff for every 15 children. The Summer Program builds upon community exploration to many local recreational facilities that may include: Science World, the Vancouver Aquarium, Stanley Park, local beaches, local parks and much more. Address: 3883 Rumble Street, Burnaby, BC V5J 1Z5 Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday with the exception of statutory holidays. - Before school hours are 7:00 am - 9:00 am - After school hours are 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm - On professional days, school breaks (including Winter and Spring Break), and the summer, the hours are 7:00 am - 6:00 pm. Staffing: Many staff are trained and certified in a variety of Community Support Programs such as Early Childhood Education. All staff are certified in First Aid and CPR, and have completed a Criminal Record Search.
